The brief for this project was to work closely with the local community and use old photographs to create a piece that could take pride of place on permanent display in Flint Library. From the beginning, it was really important that the final work reflected the town’s history and the people who make it special. Alongside Jo Danson from Wow Factor Interpretation who had spent time exploring the area’s rich visual heritage, gathering stories and memories from residents, we selected images that captured everyday life through the years. The result is a piece that not only celebrates Flint’s past but also creates a lasting connection between the community and its shared history, something that feels right at home at its new location.
